Remove wingnut (8), flatwasher (9), and plate
(10) from each of four J-bolts (11).
(5)
Store wingnuts (8), flatwashers (9), and plates
(10) in spreader toolbox (12).
(6)
Secure lifting slings or chains to grating inside
operator’s platform (3).
WARNING
Keep clear of equipment when it is
being raised and lowered. Do not
allow heavy components to swing
while suspended by a lifting device.
Exercise extreme caution when
working near a cable under tension.
Failure to follow this warning may
result in severe injury or death to
personnel.
NOTE
Two people should balance
operator’s platform while the third
person operates lifting device.
(7)
Using a suitable lifting device, remove operator’s
platform (3) (125 lb) from hopper and set on
ground.
(8)
Remove lifting slings or chains from operator’s
platform (3).
(9)
Unhook four J-bolts (11) from lugs (13) inside
hopper and remove. Store In spreader toolbox
(12).
(10)
Connect lifting slings or chains to four D-rings
(14) on hopper.
WARNING

Using a suitable lifting device, lift spreader (2400
lb) enough to get weight off transport truck tires.
